Ferne M (Ramsey) Sipes

Ferne M. (Ramsey) Sipes, 88, of Everett, PA, peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, February 29, 2024.

 

She was born in Breezewood, PA, on May 25, 1935, a daughter of the late Mason and Hilda (Hinish) Ramsey.

 

She is survived by six children, Greg Akers, Tracy Akers, Denette Creps, Darlette Akers, Brandon Akers, and Brett Straub; two brothers, Leo and Garry Ramsey; two sisters, Bonnie Kalathas and Theola Miller; four grandchildren, Kersten Holler, Zakk Jays, Mason Akers, and Bree Akers; two great-grandchildren, Kampton and Khai Holler.

 

In addition to her parents and husband, Larry Sipes, Ferne was preceded in passing by three infant siblings, Sarah, Marvin, and Ronald Ramsey; seven siblings, Norma Feight, Virgil Ramsey, Jean Truax, Lorraine Greenwald, Randy Ramsey, Rodney Ramsey, and Vickie Ramsey; a son, Shane Ramsey; and a grandson, Tyler Taylor.

 

After high school, Ferne worked at the Gateway Travel Plaza as a waitress for 36 years until her retirement. She was hardworking and diligent, always putting in extra effort to ensure that her customers had a pleasant experience. Ferne was very outgoing and treated her customers and coworkers with great kindness and friendliness.

 

She had an unwavering and unconditional love for her family displayed through her love and affection for them. Her love is cherished and will never be forgotten.

 

The family would like to thank her special caregiver, Erica Bockhouse for the years of love and compassion in caring for Ferne.

 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Donelson funeral home. Funeral service will be following the visitation at 12:00 PM in the Chapel at Donelson Funeral Home, LLC., with Reverend William C. Swope officiating.
