Janet Hanks Obituary
Janet E. Hanks, 76, of Huntingdon, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 after a three year battle with health issues.
She was born February 6, 1947, in Bedford, the oldest daughter of Harold and Jessie (Hills) Williams.
Janet is survived by two sons, Brian Hanks and David Hanks and wife Lura; four grandchildren, Sarah, Nathan, Amber, and Natalie Hanks; sister, Barbara Bussard and husband Don; and two brothers, Bill Williams and wife Jody and Ken Williams.
Ms. Hanks was a 1965 graduate of Everett Area High School. She owned and operated a local radio station, WQRO, in her early years, and later became Register and Recorder of Deeds for Huntingdon County.
She will be remembered as a proud grandmother who also loved birds, flowers, and learning new things.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm in the Chapel at Donelson Funeral Home. The funeral will follow visitation at 12:00 pm with Pastor John Geyer officiating.
Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.
