Bernice E. (Grubb) Cogan

Bernice E. Cogan, 79, of Everett, formerly of Clearville, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 19th, 2017 at Homewood at Martinsburg. She was born Thursday, January 6th, 1938 at Dr. D.R. Sipes Hospital in Everett, a daughter of the late Lloyd Ivan Grubb and Iva Olive (Edward) Grubb. On July 22nd, 1955 in Winchester, Virginia, she married John Robert Cogan who passed away on April 2nd, 2005. She is survived by their children, Judith A. Cogan of Everett, with whom she resided, John Robert Cogan, Jr. and partner Debra Croft of Everett, Timothy Allen Cogan and wife Karen (Eichler) Cogan of Clearville, Six grandchildren, Chris Cogan of Altoona, Chantel Schreiber and husband Lucas of Clearville, Micah Cogan and fiancé Rebecca Fochman of Everett, Zane Cogan of Clearville, Amanda Bollman and husband Rich of Clearville, Dillon Price of Clearville, Three great-grandchildren, Gunner Schreiber, Nolan Cogan and Mason Bollman and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in passing away by a sister Miriam Cogan and her husband Glenn. Mrs. Cogan was a member of the Clearville United Methodist Church. In her younger years she was employed as a press operator at Stanley Manufacturing in Chambersburg and at Lion Manufacturing in Everett. Bernice then worked as a preparation cook at the Family House Restaurant in Breezewood until retiring. At home she enjoyed working crossword puzzles, watching television, keeping company with her companion and friend Chihuahua Lucy, and especially enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 22nd, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett. Friends may call the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Clearville Union Cemetery.
