Betty P. (Koontz) Bollman

Betty P. Bollman, 87, of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. She was born Tuesday, April 8, 1924 at her family home in Everett, a daughter of the late David Koontz and Mary (Smith) Koontz. On January 13, 1940, she married Paul I. Bollman, who passed away on July 12, 2001. She is survived by their son, Donald P. Bollman, and wife Trudy (Newhouse) Bollman, of New Enterprise, a daughter, Carol J. Defibaugh, and husband Allen A. Defibaugh, of Everett 5 grandchildren, Lynn Heltzel and husband Jeff, of Hopewell Steve Bollman and wife Brandy, of Loysburg Chris Defibaugh and wife Lisa, of Bedford Kevin Defibaugh and wife Stephanie, of Everett Stacey Cecere and husband Vince, of Pittsburgh 7 great grandchildren and 3 sisters, Mary Belle Baker, of Everett Olive Clark, of Saxton, and Evelyn Leach, of Everett. She was preceded in passing away by 2and infant daughter Shelbia Jean Bollman, an infant grandson, and 2 sisters, Alice Gordon and Ethel Kochendarfer. Mrs. Bollman was first a member of the Grace Brethren Church in Everett and later in her lifetime was a member of the Bedford Bible Church. For many years, Betty was employed as a dietary aid preparing meals for patients at Memorial Hospital of Bedford County until her retirement. She was a excellent homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning, and working in the yard around her home. She and her husband Paul were always seen together, and she will be dearly missed by her family and friends for her caring ways and willingness to lend a hand to others. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Chapel at Dalla valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev George H. Snyder officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Saturday from 10:00 am until the hour of service, and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Ritchey Cemetery.
