Betty L. Bowser, 88, of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 1, 2014. In addition to her parents and husband Jim, she was preceded in passing away by a sister Gladys (Forshey) Morgan. Mrs. Bowser was a devoted member of the Everett Church of the Brethren and was a graduate of Woodbury High School, Class of 1944. After her marriage to Jim, together they owned and operated the Winding River Valley Farm in Cypher Beach from 1947 until their retirement in 1973 then moving to Everett. At her home on the farm, she took care of her father-in-law until his passing. After retiring, Betty worked as a volunteer at the Everett Free Library for three years, was a cook at Kelly's Scenic View Restaurant and served on the Everett Borough Election Board for twelve years. At home she enjoyed reading, cooking, and like many of us, could never pass up her sweets. She grew and sold plants from her back porch, would help anyone who asked with sewing alterations, having made a few custom wedding dresses, and also help her friend Ann at Berneice's gift shop in Everett. Betty will be remembered as a loving person who quietly put the needs of others before herself. Friends may call at the Church on Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm, again on Saturday at the Church from 10:00 am until the hour of service, and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com.
