Betty Jean (Henderson) Keifer

Betty Jean Keifer, 81, of Bedford, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 24th, 2013. She was born Wednesday, June 29th, 1932 in Bedford, a daughter of the late John R. Henderson and Anna Carrie (Clemence) Henderson. On January 26th, 1951, she married James L. "Jimmie" Keifer who passed away on Thursday November 22nd, 2012. She is survived by their children, Roxanne B. Felts of Norristown, James R. "J.R." Keifer, and wife Mary Ann (Foor) Keifer, of Bedford Two granddaughters, Rhiannon Mayer and Logan Felts A grandson, Garrett Keifer A sister in law, Marjorie M. Hyde of Martinsburg A nephew Fred C. Hyde, and wife Susan M. (Wentling) Hyde, of Mars and their children Austin and Amanda Her aunt Betty J. Rohm of Duncansville, and many loving cousins, friends, and their families. In addition to her husband Jimmie, she was preceded in passing away by an infant niece, Kelly Lynne Hyde; a niece, Sherry Denise Hyde; and a brother-in-law, Fred C. Hyde. Mrs. Keifer was a member of the Bedford United Methodist Church, a former member the Bedford Springs Chapter #41 Order of the Eastern Star and was a graduate of Bedford High School. Working at home as a secretary for the tax collector of Bedford Township for over 16 years, Betty Jean was able to stay at home caring for her home and raising her family. She enjoyed reading, especially romance novels, working crossword puzzles, and listening to the radio, many times being the winner of the "First Caller To Name This Song..." A loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, you were always welcome at her home and she will be greatly missed for her friendly and caring ways. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 27th, 2013 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett with Jim Miller officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com.
