Calvin M. Ritchey

Calvin M. Ritchey, 87, of Everett, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Pennknoll Village. He was born June 3, 1924 at his family home in Monroe Township, Clearville, a son of the late Marcus M. Ritchey and Lillie M. (Bennett) Ritchey. He is survived by a sister in law, Vera Ritchey of Everett, a brother in law, Ivan "Ipe" Smith, of Everett, and many loving nieces, nephews and their families. He was preceded in passing away by 3 sisters, Velma Smith, Sara Mills, and Mary Feight, and 2 brothers, Palmer Ritchey and Harold "Mike" Ritchey. Early in his lifetime, Calvin was employed at Everett Hardwood Lumber Company, later working at Hinish Feed & Farm Supply, and then worked as a flagman with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation until retiring. At home he enjoyed caring for his animals and relaxing on the porch, and was a caring brother, uncle and friend who will be greatly missed Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev. Lyle Mellott officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Clearville.
