Carole Louise Shirk, 79, of Everett, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2021.
She was born Tuesday, October 7, 1941 in New Paris, PA, a daughter of the late Lewis P. Fritz and Alma Gertrude (Rowser) Fritz.
She was first married to Lloyd W. Cogan and later married to Charles E. Shirk.
She is survived by their two sons, Clifford and wife, Christine Cogan, and Jeffery, companion of David Wright, and two daughters, Debra (Cogan) Strait and Angela wife, of Glen Barkman. She is also survived by a brother, Donald Fritz and eight grand-children; Shawna, wife of Kevin Juma, Katelyn Cogan, Curtis and Taylor Barkman, Mariah, fiancé of Cody Brumbaugh, Haley and Elijah Cogan, and Joshua Strait; eight great grand-children; Nerissa, Isaya, and Urijah Juma, Addison Barkman, Vanessa G. Cogan Brumbaugh, Brayden, Payton, and Jaxon Cogan.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in passing by an infant child.
After graduating from Chestnut Ridge High School, in 1959, Carole worked as a waitress for many years at Landmark Restaurant and Gateway Travel Plaza. She also worked as a home health aide until her retirement.
Carole had many passions in life, some of which were spending her time changing and updating home décor, shopping, and picking out matching outfits, and was an avid reader. She loved her pets very much and enjoyed always talking to anybody she could.
