Carole A. (Wood) Umstead

Carole A. (Wood) Umstead, 70, of Bedford, most recently of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 24th, 2015. She was born Wednesday, November 7th, 1945 in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late Nelson Wood and Lillian (Stoehr) Wood. She is survived by a daughter, Shirley A Strippoli of Monroeville, New Jersey, two sons, Paul F. Wood and wife Danielle Lee (Miller) Wood of Everett, Christian N. Umstead of Allentown, Nine grandchildren, Michael, Samuel, Ashley, Angelina, Faith, Christina, Katelynn, Isirdro and Liam, A sister Nancy I. Kuehule of Levittown, and her former husband Rev. Paul Cheeseman and wife Kathleen Cheeseman of Duncannon. She was preceded in passing away by a brother Nelson "Sonny" Wood. After her high school years, Carole first worked as a waitress and then was a dedicated wife and mother who also worked as a security guard for Coca Cola in Philadelphia. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, playing cards and just being "mom" to her children and grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held by her family.
