Catherine June Simmons

Catherine June Simmons , 85, was called home on Wednesday, January 3, 2018. She was born on Friday, May 27th, 1932 in Everett, a daughter of the late Jacob Thomas Simmons and Zola Maurice (Foor) Simmons. June is survived by her children, Tim Calhoun and his wife Amy (Baughman) Calhoun of Kingston Springs, Tennessee, Angela (Calhoun) Fields of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Lorie (Calhoun Spangler) DeCorte of Delray Beach, Florida, June is also survived by nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a brother Richard Simmons and his wife Josephine of Greencastle. She was preceded in death by a daughter Sherry Calhoun, a son Terry Calhoun, a brother Robert Simmons, her former husband Palmer S. Calhoun. June was a member of the Everett Church of God for many years where she served as a Sunday School teacher. A graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1950, June worked as a hairdresser throughout her life and will be remembered as a strong and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 12th, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Pastor Jonathon Kisner officiating.
