Charles Loy Obituary

Charles W. Loy, 78, of Breezewood, passed away on Tuesday, March 7th, 2017. He was born Friday, September 16th, 1938 at his family home in Lucketts, Loudoun County, Virginia, a son of the late Claude F. Loy and Nellie R. (Rollison) Loy. On July 15th, 1960 in Adamstown, Maryland, he married Betty May (White) Loy, who passed away November 12th, 2002. He is survived by their three sons, Jeffery Allen Loy and wife Melissa (Vickers) Loy of East Helena, Montana, Dwayne Mark Loy and wife Kim (Fisher) Loy of Union Mills, Maryland, Tony B. Loy and wife Vicky (Vance) Loy of Artemas Five grandchildren, Dana Michelle (Loy) Colbin and husband Adam Colbin, Shawn Marie (Loy) Carnahan and husband Shaun Carnahan, Charles John Loy, Melinda Ann Loy, Steven Douglas Loy, A very close foster granddaughter Lorena Lamb, and many more loving foster daughters, sons and their families. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in passing away by a sister Gloria Almira "Tootie" Loy in 1993. As a young man, Charles worked in construction and painting, later taking a position with International Harvester as a mechanic, working on all types of farm equipment until retiring. He and his wife dedicated their lives to raising their children and foster children and making a loving home for all. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, antiquing with his wife, collecting Bluegrass instruments, especially violins, and truly enjoyed his small car collection and was never one to turn down the chance to spend time with his and other classic cars. A loving husband, father, foster parent and brother, Charles will be remembered for the love and devotion that he shared with his family, extended family, friends and neighbors. Private services will be held by his family with burial at Furnace Mountain Presbyterian Cemetery in Lucketts, Virginia. Memories can be shared online at www.dallavalle-everett.com.
