Cora "Peach" (Clark) Shirley

Cora "Peach" Shirley, 83, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, previously of Bedford, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 19th, 2017. She was born Wednesday, January 24th, 1934 at her family home in West Provence Township, a daughter of the late Floyd E. "Bud" Clark and Laverne A. (Mearkle) Clark. She is survived by her children, Debra Morales of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Sharon L. Cornell and husband Gregory Cornell of Berlin, Robert R. Shirley and wife Jamey (Huber) Shirley of Bedford, Penny D. Mellott and husband Douglas G. Mellott of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren Two sisters, Leota Smouse of Martinsburg and Joyce Morral of Everett, her husband Robert L. Shirley of Alabama, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in passing away by 3 sisters, Evelyn Clark, Regina Clark and Catherine Bollman; and two brothers Floyd Clark, Jr., and Clyde Clark. In her early years, "Peach", as she was known to her family and friends, along with her husband, owned and operated Mae's Dinner on Mile Level in Bedford. She also worked as a waitress at several local restaurants, most notably the many years she worked at the Landmark Restaurant in Everett until retiring. A dedicated mother and grandmother, Peach enjoyed playing bingo, volunteering at the Bedford Senior Center, and will be remembered for her determination and the cheerful way she cared for others, making friends and lightening the day for everyone she met. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 26th, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev. H. Lee Ritchey officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Rock Hill Cemetery.
