Dale James

Dale James, 88, of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 28th, 2013 . He was born Thursday, May 1st, 1924 at his family home in Colerain Township, a son of the late Carl "Bud" James and Margaret (Ott) James. In Cumberland, Maryland he married Iva Jean (Leader) James who passed away on March 6th, 2009 and is survived by their children, Doris James of Hollidaysburg, Terry James and wife Mary Jane (Weicht) James, of Everett Dennis James and wife Tina (Forrester) James, of Everett Five grandchildren, three step grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, nine step great-grandchildren A sister, Kate Walker, of Gettysburg Two brothers, Harold James and wife Sue, of Jacksonville, Florida Donald James and wife Nancy, of Manns Choice And the special nurses aides and caregivers, who kindly helped care for Dale so he could be at home, Tonya Valentine, Shirley Deremer, Deb Miller, Linda Foor, Elaine Stewart, and his dedicated step granddaughter Kandi Ramsey. He was preceded in passing away by two granddaughters Tracey Janelle James and Robin Lynn James, two sisters, Roberta "Bobbie" Rossage and Doris Pensyl, and a special aunt who helped to raise him at home Miriam "Mim" James. After his school age years, Dale began working with his family at their Centennial Road farm, later working at Kilcoin's Concrete Products manufacturing construction blocks, and then for nearly 16 years, was employed with Eastern Express in Bedford as a yard man preparing company tractors for road service until retiring. He was a member of the International Brotherhood Of Teamsters Local #453 in Cumberland and at home enjoyed restoring and maintaining tractor of all types, attending flea markets, and taking his wife Iva or his sons Terry and Dennis on a Sunday motorcycle ride to Martin Hill or the Cumberland Damn, and as a father, was a dedicated mentor who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30th, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett,. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 4:00 pm until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
