Dallas D. Baughman

Dallas D. Baughman, 93, of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 3, 2012 with his family at his side. He was born Saturday, August 16, 1919 at his family home, a son of the late Francis Baughman and Zelma (Sprowl) Baughman. On November 22nd, 1947 in Cumberland Maryland, he married Jean S. (Bulger) Baughman who passed away on January 5th, 1991 He is survived by their son Randy R. Baughman, and wife Connie (Swartzwelder) Baughman of Everett 2 grandchildren, Amy J. Calhoun, and husband Timothy Calhoun, of Kingston Springs Tennessee Aaron L. Baughman of Everett 4 great grandchildren, Christian, Ethan, Noah and Owen, 2 sisters, Vesta Foor, of Everett Joyce Diehl and husband Guy Diehl, of Everett 2 brothers, Wayne Baughman and wife Joann (Feight) Baughman, of Everett Ronald Baughman and wife Delores (Whisel) of Everett and a caring friend, Lois Pressel of Everett. He was preceded in passing away by 6 sisters, Velva Clark, Hyacinth Mosden, Sara Foor, Donna Clark, Yvonne Cornell and Patty Robinette, and 2 brothers, Eugene Baughman and Rex Baughman. In his younger years, Dallas worked with his family at their farm on Clear Ridge, later buying his own dump truck to transport coal and materials for New Enterprise Stone and Lime. He then owned and operated Dallas Baughman Trucking Company, having up to 100 trucks and drivers on the road at a time, until retiring in 1985. At home, Dallas could be found spending his time in the garage working on his trucks, and truly enjoyed attending the races where his grandson was an owner of a late model racecar and his great grandsons were drivers of quarter midget racecars. Always willing to lend a hand, Dallas will be greatly missed for the help and knowledge he shared with his family and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 8th, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev. Curtis Bryant officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Saturday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.
