David R. Dishong, 64, of Imler, PA, passed away after battling cancer on Sunday, January 5, 2025.
He was born in Everett, PA, on March 5, 1960, a son of the late Melvin (KJ) and Martha (Miller) Dishong.
David is survived by fiancé, Kay Hodge; two sons, Benjamin and wife, Krista (Corle) Dishong of Schellsburg, PA. and Zachariah and girlfriend, Marissa Hodge of Berlin, PA; two brothers, Clyde and Roger Dishong; three sisters, Juniata, Cara, and Carmen; two half siblings, Joni and James; 10 grandchildren, Wyatt, Lillian, Josephine, Genevieve, Nevaeh, Xander, Waylon, and Paxton Dishong, Cassidy Hodge and significant other, Dalton Cramer, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in passing by his wife, Heidi (Witpractiger) Dishong; infant brother, John Robert; brother, Aaron Dishong, and sister, Barb.
After graduating from high school, he was a truck driver for 10 years and was in the construction industry for 35 years and another 25 years with L&R Contracting.
David had many hobbies and interests throughout his life. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, boating, and camping at Camp Hillegass. He also enjoyed dancing, drawing, and painting.
His greatest enjoyment was the time spent with his family, revealing that his love was unconditional.
He was a life member of the North American Hunting Club and a member of Pleasantville VFW.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 12:00 PM in the Chapel at Donelson Funeral Home, with Pastor Jim Espenshade officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.
Burial will be at Rock Hill Cemetery, Clearville, PA.
