Denny Hinish Obituary

Denny J. Hinish, 65, of Everett, passed away on Friday, December 25th, 2015 at UPMC Passavant McCandless, Pittsburgh. He was born Saturday, November 11th, 1950 at Memorial Hospital of Bedford County, a son of Betty A. (Hilden) Hinish of Everett and the late Ernest Robert Hinish, Sr. Along with his mom Betty, he is survived by his daughter, Rhonda Lee (Hinish) Lee and husband Christopher Lee of Martinsville, Virginia; Two grandsons, Paul L. Cockram of Ridgeway, Virginia and Matthew LaRue of Martinsville, Virginia; a great-granddaughter Haillie Cockram, at home; a sister Wendy (Hinish) Colledge and husband Jerry Colledge of Everett, and a brother Barry Hinish of Everett. In addition to his father, he was preceded in passing away by a sister Barbara Jean Giffin and a brother Ernest Robert Hinish, Jr. A graduate of Everett Area High School, Class of 1968, Denny delivered newspapers and then worked as a cook at the Dairy Dell Restaurant in Everett while still in high school. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served as a Lance corporal studying cryogenics with the Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 24, the Marine Aircraft Group 24, the First Marine Brigade and the Fleet Marine Force. receiving the National Defense Service Medal and the Rifle Marksman Badge. After his service to his country, Denny, who truly enjoyed traveling and experiencing new opportunities, worked throughout the east coast from Pennsylvania to Florida. He worked with his Uncle Bill McKinley in Coatesville setting up mobile homes, drove taxicab in Tampa for many years, worked as a planner and draftsman for the construction of saw mills in Waynesboro, Virginia, and was a tree trimmer with PennLine. An avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Denny also enjoyed woodworking, photography, painting on canvas in his younger years and loved to jump in his truck and go for a ride through the countryside. He will be remembered for the free spirit he shared with his family and friends. Visitation and reception of family and friends will be held Saturday, January 2nd, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, and memories may be shared online at www.dallavalle-everett.com.
