Dolores Taylor Obituary
Dolores E. "Dory" Taylor, 86, of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 3rd, 2019.
She was born Saturday, July 23rd, 1932 at her family home in Roaring Springs, a daughter of the late Carl I. Allison, Sr. and Verna E. (Burket) Allison.
On October 16th, 1953 in Winchester, Virginia, she married Willard Maurice Taylor who passed away on October 26th, 1987.
She is survived by their daughter, Deanna G. Calhoun of Bedford,
Two grandchildren,
Albert Calhoun and wife Vanessa (Foor) Calhoun of Everett,
Lorraine Thomas and husband Justin Thomas of Hopewell,
Three great-grandchildren, Eric G. Smith, Justina Thomas and Andria Thomas, a brother, Clair W. Allison of Clearville, and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in passing away by a son Willard Maurice Taylor, Jr. two brothers, Charles Allison and Carl Allison, Jr., and a son-in-law Glen Calhoun.
Mrs. Taylor attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Everett.
After graduating from Morrison's Cove High School and her marriage to Willard, she was a dedicated homemaker who also worked at Cove Shoe Factory in Martinsburg and Lion Manufacturing in Everett.
In her later years, Dory, as she was known to family and friends, was employed as the assistant manager at the Landmark Restaurant in Everett, was a waitress at the Landmark Restaurant in Bedford, and retired after working as a hostess at the Perkins Restaurant and Bakery in Breezewood.
At home she enjoyed crocheting, checking her lottery tickets for a winning number, spending time talking with her family and friends, and was an excellent cook who truly enjoyed the time she spent with her children and grandchildren who she loved so much.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 7th, 2019 at 2:00 pm at in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, 22 West Main Street, Everett with Rev. Derek Fairman officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dory to the funeral home.
