Donald E. Anderson, 79, of Everett, formerly of Canonsburg and Washington, PA, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 24th, 2013, with family at his side. He was born Sunday, September 17th, 1933 in Huston, PA, a son of the late Kenneth B. Anderson and Dorothy (Fleck) Anderson. On November 4th, 1967 in Washington, PA, he married Sophia Martha "Dolly" (Peters) Anderson, who survives along with their two daughters, Michele Briggs and husband Joe Briggs, and Marcia Honsberger and husband Brent Honsberger, and six grandchildren, Evan, Eric, Jesse, Shaun, Valen, and Sarah. Mr. Anderson was a member of the Manns Choice Church of God where he served as an Elder and was a member of the church counsel. After serving in the United States Army where he was in charge of weapons, Donald then managed the Pittsburgh Paint store in Washington for many years. For the past 35 years, he and his wife Sophia have owned and operated their Sheepskin Country Store's at three locations, one shop in Everett for the past 25 years, as well a one shop at the Savage Mill, Savage, Maryland, and another in Hagerstown, Maryland. At home he enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, and taking his family for long Sunday rides. He was an instructor and lifelong member of the NRA, and will be greatly missed for his welcoming smile, sense of humor, and kind and caring ways. A memorial service will be held Sunday, September 1st, 2013 at 2:00 pm at the Manns Choice Church of God, 6150 Allegheny Road, Manns Choice, PA 15550 with Pastor Richard Whetstone officiating. Family and friends may call at the Church on Sunday from 1:00 pm until the hour of service.
