Donald Ferrell Obituary

Donald R. Ferrell, 75, of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 22, 2011. He was born October 12, 1935 in Everett, a son of the late Walter L. Ferrell and Elva (Hartman) Ferrell. On October 8, 1962 in Winchester, Virginia, he married Martha E. (Hoover) Ferrell who survives along with their children, Dennis E. Ferrell, and fiancée Marsha Jay, of Saxton Donette A. Baughman, and husband Kevin Baughman, of Everett Darlene G. Ferrell and fiancée Montie Beegle, of Clearville Darin L. Ferrell, and wife Tammy (Boden) Ferrell, of Everett 7 grandchildren, Brittany N. Hoy, and husband Joshua Katelyn M. Baughman W. Cody Hershberger Hunter F. Hershberger Matthew L. Ferrell Levi B. Ferrell, and fiancé Amber Stickle Dalton L. Ferrell a great granddaughter Autumn Hershberger and a great grandchild on the way, and a sister, Lenora Brallier, of Hopewell. He was preceded in passing away by two brothers, Walter L. Ferrell, Jr., and William G. Ferrell. At the age of 15, Don started his first job, bagging lime and later working as a light truck driver for New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company. He then served in the United States Army from August of 1958 through August of 1964 as a Private First Class at Fort Hamilton, New York and Fort Eustis, Virginia, operating in a number of positions, receiving training as a Carbine Sharpshooter. After returning home to Everett, he began his lifelong career as a truck driver for New Enterprise Stone and Lime, retiring in 1997 with over 46 years of service. He was a member of the Everett VFW Post #2088 and was an outdoorsman who enjoyed taking his daily walk, working in the garden and yard, shoveling snow in the winter, fishing, hunting, and will be greatly missed for the wonderful stories he told and the thoughtfulness he shared with so many. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 29, 2011 at 6:00 pm in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Pastor Glenn Blackstone officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 pm until hour of service, and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com.
