Donald E. Foor, 85, of Everett, PA, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024.
Don was formerly married to Joyce (Calhoun) Foor.
He was born in Hopewell, PA, on July 4, 1939, a son of the late W. Franklin Foor and M. Elizabeth (Eichelberger) Foor.
On September 21, 2001, in Fishertown, PA, he married Mary Foor.
Don is survived by his wife; three sons, Mike L. Foor, of Bedford, PA, Rick L. Foor, of Crystal Spring, PA, and Randy L. Foor, of Everett, PA; two step-children, Robert B. Corle Jr. and wife April, of Mississippi, and Michelle Leighty; a grandson, Tyler Foor; four step-grandchildren, Dustin Corle, Ashley Barajas, and Christopher and Logan Leighty; a granddaughter-in-law, Rachel Foor; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by a brother, Ronald Foor and wife Joanne; a sister, Joyce Ferguson and husband Clark “Jr.”; and a grandson, Dalton Foor.
Don attended Bedford High School and was a member of Union Memorial Church until its closing and later attended Rays Cove Christian Church until he could no longer because of illnesses.
Retiring from New Enterprise Stone & Lime Company, Ashcom Plant, he was employed there for 43 and a half years. He was the Black Top Plant Operator and held various jobs throughout his employment.
Don had several hobbies throughout his life. A few of them were collecting Nascar memorabilia, going to Daytona Speedway annually, Atlanta Speedway, and other speedways until his health prevented him from doing so, working on cars, and was an avid coin collector.
The family would like to thank UPMC Home Hospice for their care and service for Don, especially the nurses and aide, for their love and compassion.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 1 pm at Ray’s Cove Christian Church, Breezewood, with Pastor Tom Smith officiating. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 11 am until the hour of service.
A private burial will be held by the family at Union Memorial Cemetery.
