Donald O. Herline, 82, of Everett, passed away on Thursday, June 27th, 2013. He was born Thursday May 7th, 1931 at his family home in Manns Choice, a son of the late John S. Herline and Hazel (Ferguson) Herline. On February 1st, 1957 in Winchester Virginia, he married E. Patricia "Patsy" (Hartman) Herline who passed away on Thursday March 29th, 2012. He is survived by their son, Donald H. Herline and wife Melissa (Wagner) Herline, of Woodlands, Texas, two grandsons, Charles and Nile, both at home, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. He was preceded in passing away by two sisters, Violet Feathers and Margaret Miller. Mr. Herline was a member of the Everett Church of the Brethren and previously was a member of the Muddy Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Lancaster County. Attending school in Manns Choice and being raised with his grandparents, Samuel and Nancy Herline at their home by the Herline Covered Bridge, Donald first worked at the family farm. In 1952, he enlisted in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict, serving as an Airman Second Class, Fireman II, serving overseas and receiving the National Defense Service Medal. After returning home from his service to our country, Donald began working in construction as a heavy equipment operator, later changing his profession to Hazardous Materials mitigation until retiring. At home Donald was a handyman who enjoyed spending time with his wife Patsy traveling and watching television, and will be remembered by his family and many friends for being good to everyone he knew.
