Donna Jean (Miller) Martin

Donna J. Martin, 57, of Needmore, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 29, 2011, with her family at her side. She was born February 16, 1954 in Roaring Springs, a daughter of Jean (Keithley) Miller of Berkeley Springs, WV, and the late Rev. Robert I. Miller. On July 4, 1998 in Greencastle, she married Elgin Zane Martin who survives along with their children, Myranda O'Brien. of Needmore Eric Martin, and wife Penny, of St. Thomas, 5 grandchildren, Hailey Karley Alley Chris and Brooke 3 sisters, Joyce Hiles, and husband Lynn, of Berkeley Springs Louise Painter, and husband Frank, of Staunton, VA Sandra Hummer, and husband Robert, of Greencastle and a brother, Dwight "Buddy" Miller, and wife Tammy of St. Thomas. She was preceded in passing away by an infant brother, Donald Dwayne Miller. Donna was a member of the Hopewell Brethren In Christ Church and was a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School, Class of 1973. After graduation, she lived in Bedford, working as a waitress until moving to Greencastle where she was a cashier for the Sunnyway Grocery store. She then worked for Sara Lee Butter-Krust, as a pull up person at grocery and other stores in the Fulton County, Hancock, and Berkeley Springs areas until it was time to care for her own health and family. Donna enjoyed flowers gardening, feeding and watching humming birds around her home, playing online games and on word search puzzles, and traveling and sightseeing with her family. Making light of any situation, a comic in her own right, she could see the good in everyone and every situation and was a loving daughter, wife, mother grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed for her caring way. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 2, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev. Lynn Hiles and Rev. Kenny Pool officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Friday 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Union Memorial Cemetery.
