Dorothy Batholow Obituary

Dorothy L. Bartholow, 75, of Clearville, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 31st, 2014, with family at her side. She was born Saturday, June 4th, 1938 at her family home in Flintstone, a daughter of the late Irvin Ketterman and Dora (Morral) Ketterman In October of 1956 in Cumberland, she married Clyde L. Bartholow who survives along with their children, Brenda Bartholow and partner Joe Stull, of Breezewood Debbie Northcraft and partner Joel Malehorn, of Chambersburg Lisa Musser and husband David Musser, of Winchester Dotty Weaverling, and partner Randy Lawson, of Latrobe Five grandchildren, Mary, Kyle, Paige, Corey and Rachel A great grandson Blake A sister Gladys Frantz of Ridgley, West Virginia A sister-in-law, Janet Bishop and husband Harold Bishop, of Everett And a brother-in-paw, Raymond Bishop and partner Linda Romance of Chaneysville In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in passing away by 2 brothers, Cecil Ketterman and Wade Ketterman, a half sister Ethel Grapes and a half brother Orville Ketterman. Mrs. Bartholow was a member of the Oakdale Methodist Church in Flintstone Creek and attended the Chaneysville Community Church. A graduate of Everett Southern Joint High School, Class of 1955, she first worked at Lion Manufacturing in Everett lining coats, and then worked as a nurses aid at Pennknoll Village for over 28 years until retiring. She also did some homecare after retiring for several people she knew who could use a helping hand. Dorothy was always active with her family and friends, in her younger years enjoying snowmobiling and riding motorcycle with her husband Clyde, "calling the dance" at the square dances held at the Chaneysville Fire Hall, and any activity you were up for, she was up for. A flower gardener who enjoyed hunting deer, squirrel and many other outdoor activities, she also enjoyed working on crafts at home and was always willing to lend a hand and to help others and will be remembered for her kind and caring ways to her family, friends and community. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 3rd, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett with Pastor Jonas "Buck" Smith officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Chaneysville Methodist Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Dorothy to the Chaneysville Community Church.
