Dorothy E. (Mearkle) King

Dorothy E. King, 89, of Breezewood, was call home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 11, 2011 with her family at her side. She was born June 9, 1922 at her family home in East Providence Township, a daughter of the late Francis B. Markle and Ellen (Porter) Markle. On February 2, 1949 in Huntingdon, she married Richard A. King who passed away on June 11, 2008. She is survived by their children, Rodney V. Wolf, of Needmore, Ronda F. Kriner, and husband Kenneth W. Kriner, of Breezewood, 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, a sister in law, Faye Mearkle, of Birdsboro, 2 brothers in law, Earl King and wife Martha, of Everett and Gayle King and wife Mollie, of Fayetteville, SC a special nephew who she helped raise in her home, Paul Markle, Jr., of Crystal Spring, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in passing away by an infant brother Glenn Mearkle, a daughter in law Catherine (Kline) Wolf, a son in law Charles Donelson, a sister Grace, and 3 brothers, George E. Mearkle, Donald E. Mearkle, and Paul F. Markle. Dorothy was a dedicated homemaker and Mom who enjoyed flower gardening and arranging flowers for family and friends, and also enjoyed watching classic western movies and television shows, and will be greatly missed for her loving and caring ways. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett with pastor JR Winck officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Thursday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
