In the quiet of Everett, Pennsylvania, on June 30th, 2025, Dorothy Mae Long, known to many as "Dottie," was called home. It was a day for reflection and remembrance, marking the end of a legacy steeped in love and dedication. Born on December 12th,1937, in Everett, Pennsylvania, to the caring arms of Irene Hann and Joseph Foor, Sr. Dottie lived a life of vibrant devotion and indelible service.
She was widowed for many years, and mother to three treasured children, Laurie Pae (Walter), Heidi Wertz (Jamie), Colby Wertz (Cathy). She also took pride in being a grandmother to LeLand Weyant (Krystal), Derek (Hannah) and Sara Pae, Tyler (Kelly) and Trevor Price, Colin and Colton Wertz, Abby Lewis, and five great-grandchildren. Dorothy’s legacy was one of grace and selflessness. Her tenderness and nurturing touch left an unmistakable mark on the hearts of those who knew her.
During her earlier years, her heart was firmly set on raising her children, fulfilling the role of a mother with gentle patience and boundless love. She loved to help others and the many animals in her life. She loved to roller skate and dance. She became owner and sole proprietor of a personal care home until her retirement and facing ill health.
Dottie was a woman of many talents and interests. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, and camping in her free time. These hobbies brought joy and nourishment to those around her. Her heart was full of warmth and compassion, and she leaves behind memories that will be cherished by those who knew her.
As the sun sets on this chapter of Dottie’s life, her memory will live on through her family and friends who were blessed to have her in their lives. As her wishes, there will be no viewing or memorial service. The world is a better place for having known her.
