Edward A. Westwood, 70, Staten Island, NY native, of Everett, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2022.
He was born January 2, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Dennis Westwood and Sally (Matuszewska) Westwood.
On December 18, 1977, he married Deborah (Cestaro) Westwood.
Edward was a native New Yorker who moved to Everett in 1992.
He is survived by their children;
Nicole Robinette and husband Brandon of Everett,
Jillian Westwood and partner Stacy Trice of Delaware,
Peter Westwood of California, and
loyal dog Diva.
Also four grandchildren; Jackson Snyder, Jett Snyder, Joseph Snyder of Georgia, and Ivy Robinette of Everett.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by a daughter, Deidre Snyder.
A graduate of Curtis High School, Staten Island, Edward continued his education at Wagner College where he earned his bachelor’s degree and was captain of the football team.
After completing his education, he worked as an NYC transit officer and K9-officer, until his retirement. While serving in NYC, he was a 9/11 rescue worker and a bladder cancer survivor due to his service at Ground Zero. He owned and operated his business, Westwood's Pest Control for 30 years.
Edward had a love for football that led him to coach for Everett Jr. and Sr. High, St. Joseph By the Sea of Staten Island and Moore Catholic of Staten Island. Edward enjoyed anything football related whether it be talking about it, watching it, or playing it. He had a passion for coaching, as he was proud of all of the players he coached over the years.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Donelson Funeral Home, 22 West Main Street, Everett, Pennsylvania.
