Elmer N. Mellott

Elmer N. Mellott, 93, of Bedford, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 28th, 2016. He was born Monday, May 1st, 1922 in Bainville, Montana, a son of the late Charles Mellott and Sarah Elizabeth (Fletcher) Mellott. On July 3rd, 1943 in Winchester, Virginia, he married Helen L. (Felton) Mellott who passed away on March 10th, 2012. He is survived by their children, Delmas W. Mellott and wife Shirley of York, Judith A. Mellott and companion Eric Bell of Florida, Darrell N. Mellott and wife Darlene of Chesapeake, Virginia Betty Jo Lynn of Altoona Six grandchildren, Bryan Lynn, Anna Lynn, Kelly Yarborough, Danielle Mellott, Petal Brown and Crystal Brown, Five great grandchildren, Nichole, Jordan, Marley, Waseer and Chanel, A sister Ethel Phillips of Cumberland, and two brothers, John Mellott of State College and Lloyd Mellott of State College. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in passing away by a sister Marion Fetters and her husband John Fetters, a brother Bernard Mellott and his wife Bertha Mellott, two sisters-in-law Elsie Mellott and Lucille Mellott, and a brother-in-law William Phillips. Mr. Mellott was a member of the First Christian Church in Everett. He was employed throughout his lifetime as a service man for Dibert Mobile Homes in Everett and enjoyed bowling, playing cards, reading and gardening. Be it helping a family member build their own home or work on a smaller project, Elmer will be remembered as a loving husband, father and brother who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 3rd, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev. Robert R. Robertson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.
