Emma L. (Feight) Covert

Emma L. Covert, 86, of Everett, most recently of The Village at Morison's Cove, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 17th, 2015. She was born Thursday, November 22nd, 1928 in Bedford, a daughter of the late John Feight and Nora (Clites) Feight. She was first married to Frank John Knechtel, Sr., who passed away in June of 1961. On August 29th, 1970 she married Paul M. "Mike" Covert who passed away on September 12th, 2000. She is survived by her children, Michael C. Knechtel and wife Glenda (Russell) Knechtel of Waynesboro, Kirk Knechtel and wife Tonya (Reid) of Hopewell, and Jodi L. Covert of Everett, Five Grandchildren, Crystal Beckner and husband Joseph, Starla Knechtel and partner Lisa Pounds, Tyler Knechtel and wife Ashley, Cayla Carbaugh and husband Jared, Shianne Knechtel and partner Ryan Rodgers, Nine great grandchildren, A daughter-in-law Sherri L. (Mellott) Knechtel of Waynesboro, A sister Beverly Black of Hopewell, And many loving step grandchildren, nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in passing away by a son Frank John Knecktel, Jr., a granddaughter Cylee Knechtel, a grandson Chad Knechtel, five sisters, Margaret Colvin, Dorothy Henderson, Frona Wojak, and Shirley Gordon, Evelyn Beegle, and three brothers, Harry Feight, Melvin Feight, and John Feight. Mrs. Covert was a member of the Bethel Church of the Brethren and a graduate of Bedford High School. An avid NASCAR, dirt track and harness horse racing fan, Emma enjoyed attending the dirt track races at Hagerstown Speedway, working crossword puzzles at home, and truly loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. A visitation and viewing will be held Friday March 20th, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett. A memorial service will then be held the following week on Saturday, March 28th, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Bethel Church of the Brethren with Rev. H. Lee Ritchey officiating.
