Ethel Donivan Obituary

Ethel M. Donivan, 82, of Hollidaysburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.

She was born in Everett, PA, on October 12, 1941, a daughter of the late Thomas and Sara (Weist) Reyan.

Ethel is survived by two daughters, Tammy and husband, Steve Arnold, and Tina Teeter; two sons, Edward and wife, Paula Donivan, and Troy Donivan; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Summers Donivan; siblings, Ruth Swope, Bill and wife, Sandy Reyan, Robert Reyan, Connie and husband, John Reed, and Donnie and wife, Valley Reyan; 10 grandchildren, Hillary, Marissa, Lane, Scott, Justin, Chasity, Ashley, Dakota, Dylan, and Hunter; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jay, who passed away in 1981, she was preceded in passing by a son, Doug Donivan.

Ethel loved 80’s rock, but her favorite musician was Elvis Presley. She was fond of collecting Elvis memorabilia and often received Elvis pieces as special gifts from her family. When it came to food, Ethel truly enjoyed her favorite dessert, lemon meringue pie.

She had a witty sense of humor and a tenacious streak that surprised some. She has on more than one occasion been referred to as a "little spitfire." Even in her final days, she showed herself to be a fighter.

The highlight of her life was the love, strong bond, and deep respect that she had for her family, especially her grandchildren.

A private service will be held by the family, with burial at Mountain Chapel Church Cemetery, Breezewood, PA.
