Flora Rebecca (Williams) Mellott

Flora R. Mellott, 96, of Breezewood, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 26, 2011. She was born August 28, 1914 in East Providence Township, a daughter of the late George Williams and Lula (Winck) Williams. On August 23, 1933 in Cumberland, she married Herbert C. Mellott, who passed away on November 12, 1965. She is survived by their daughter, Glenda M. Donivan of Breezewood a daughter in-law Louise (Medlin) Mellott, of Breezewood 6 grandchildren, Ronald Donivan, of Breezewood Carolyn Ulsh, of McConnellsburg Bonnie Chamberlain, of Breezewood Roger Donivan of Everett Donald Mellott, of Breezewood Steven Donivan, of Hope Mills, NC 12 great grandchildren 3 great great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Mary Snyder, of Everett Edna Brallier, of Tatesville Cora Mae Hall, of Clearville and a special friend, Franklin Barnett, of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home. She was preceded in passing away by a son Vernon E. Mellott on August 21, 2005, a son in law, Carl Donivan, 3 sisters, Sara Feight, Estella Andrews, and Grace Thompson, and 2 brothers, Wilbur Williams and Robert Williams. Mrs. Mellott was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. For many years, Flora and her husband operated their family's dairy farm, and after he passed away, she worked as a cook at Snyder's Gateway Restaurant for 14 years until retiring. At home, she enjoyed working on "Find The Word" puzzle books and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who truly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and their families and will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 29, 2011 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Bard and Rev. Curtis Bryant officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, on Friday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Union Memorial Cemetery.
