Franklin A. "Frank" Funk

Franklin A. Funk, 27, of State Line, began his new life on Thursday, June 20th, 2013. He was born Thursday, August 8th, 1985 in Hagerstown, Maryland, a son of Dana D. (Horn) Specht of Frederick, Maryland and Andrew L. Funk of Artemas. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his girlfriend, Kayla Young of Hagerstown and her son Ben, who Frank cared for as his own, A stepmother, Theresa M. (Murray) Funk or Artemas, A stepfather, Gary Specht of Frederick, Maternal grandmother Carolyn Horn of Rouzerville, Paternal grandparents Donald L. Funk of Hagerstown and Eleanor B. (Walrath) Funk of Maugansville, MD His great grandmother, Helen Funk of Hagerstown Two half sisters, Rylie Specht and Gabriella Rodriguez, Two stepsisters, Sara Haug and Ashlee (Specht) Lawson, A half-brother, Ethan Rodriguez, A stepbrother, Travis Trumpower, And many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and their families. Frank was an active member of the Grace Baptist Church in Waynesboro where he was also active with the Young Ministry Group, and was a graduate of Broadfording Christian Academy in Hagerstown, Class of 2004. After graduation, Frank was a store manager for the former GTS-Welco, now Praxair MidAtlantic, in Hagerstown, MD. At home he enjoyed camping, hunting, and generally anything about the outdoors, who was a member of the Hillbilly Hunting Gang in Artemas. He was a fun-loving guy that truly loved his friends and family and always had a smile on his face and a hilarious story to tell you. It wouldn't have be uncommon at all to see Frank driving with his windows down, listening to his favorite music and singing his heart out along the way. A memorial service to celebrate his life with be held Thursday, June 27th, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Grace Baptist Church in Waynesboro. Friends may call and share memories at the Church on Thursday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. A committal service will be held Friday, June 28th, 2013 at 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Christian Cemetery, Chaneysville. Family and friends can gather at the cemetery from 10:30 am until the hour of service, and at 10:30 am can gather at the Artemas Community Center, 1410 Mountain Rd, Artemas, PA 17211, to proceeded together the cemetery. In harmony with Franks way of live, he surely would appreciated that you hug a friend or a new acquaintance along the way in his memory.
