Gladys E. Kiefer, 92 of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 27th, 2014 with her family at her side. She was born Friday, June 24th, 1921 at her family home in Salix, a daughter of the late Ross Rhodes and Bertha (Box) Rhodes. On July 27th, 1946 in Rittman, Ohio, she married William Kiefer who passed away on February 18th, 1985. She is survived by their daughter, Nancy A. McFarland, and husband Rodney McFarland, of Everett Two grandchildren, Rodney William McFarland of Mount Pleasant, Angela Jean McFarland of Somerset and fiancé David Leslie, of Somerset Three grandchildren, Patrick Swartz-Leslie, at home Tale Dale Leslie, at home, and Aliyah Jean Leslie, at home In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in passing away by a brother Oden Rhodes. Mrs. Kiefer was a member of the Dunlo United Methodist Church, and after moving to Everett in 1973, attended the Community Grace Brethren Church. Most recently she attended the Centenary United Methodist Church at the state line in Cumberland where she received her baptism. A member of the Everett Senior Citizens for many years, and also a member of the Bedford Senior Citizens, Gladys was a homemaker who enjoyed attending church, praying, and singing hymns. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and friends, and will be greatly missed for her loving and caring ways and the faith she shared with others. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31st, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev. Rebecca Vardiman officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Saturday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.
