Gordon L. Morgret, 93, of Perry Hall, Maryland, formerly of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 2nd, 2017. Dean of Germantown, Maryland, Joanna Lette Wells, a granddaughter Tina Marie Wells and a dear cousin Charlotte McGill and husband Mike McGill of Pittsburgh. Mr. Morgret attended the Trinity Episcopal Church in Towson, Maryland, was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1942, and began his study of Mechanical Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University until enlisting in the United States Army in December of 1942. During World War II, Gordon served as a Corporal Tec 5 with Company A 3184th Signal Service Battalion working as a Telephone and Telegraph Installer and Repairman, receiving the European - African - Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, and the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon. After returning home from his service to our country, Gordon resumed his studies at Penn State, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1949. He then worked for many years at his family's farm in Graceville until accepting a position in product development and intellectual property law with Koppers, Inc. having proudly participated in the creation of over 10 patents during his 31-year career until retiring. He was a member of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry, was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan, Penn State sports fan and supporter of the Penn State Alumni Association. Gordon enjoyed spending his free time tinkering with gadgets, either looking to make improvements or creating something new.
