H. Robert Harclerode Jr.

H. Robert Harclerode, Jr., 69, of Everett, formerly of Mattie, passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012. He was born Wednesday October 7, 1942 at the Dr. N.A. Timmins Hospital in Bedford, a son of the late Harry Robert Harclerode, Sr. and Ruth (Chilcote) Harclerode Sequin. He was first married to Judy Hall, of Lynchburg, Virginia, then to Cathy Rankin, of Six Mile Run, and on his birthday of October 7th, 1986, in Winchester, Virginia, he married Susan L. (Young) Harclerode who survives along with six children, Melanie Harclerode Fabian and husband John Fabian, of Charlotte, NC Melissa DeSandre, and husband Mark DeSandre, of State College Robert William Harclerode, of Six Mile Run John Allen Harclerode, of Altoona Jennifer Lynn Miller and husband Michael J. Miller, of Fishertown Elizabeth Ann Harclerode, of Everett a granddaughter Morgan, 4 grandsons, Christopher, Nicholas, Joseph and Owen, and a sister, Kathy Shehan and husband Walter Shehan, of Roaring Springs. Robert was a graduate of Northern Bedford County High School, Class of 1960, and after graduation began working as a dairy farmer in Dilltown. He then worked for Agway as a truck driver, also working in the mill and on building maintenance, and then owned and operated his New Enterprise dairy farm known as the Old Teeters School Farm. Robert then returned to driving truck, later working as a CNA at Pennknoll Village until retiring, and after retiring was a part time van driver for Maxwell Transport and Linda Foor. He was a member of the Southern Cove Volunteer Fire Company #41 for nearly 20 years where he served as Chief for 2 years and was also a member of the Bedford Moose Lodge #480. At home Robert enjoyed working on home improvements, gardening and cooking, and will be fondly remembered for his willingness to talk with others and share life stories with many friends and family. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 20, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev. Kevin Locker officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Friday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery. Moose Fraternal Services will be held by the Bedford Moose Lodge #480 Thursday evening at 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Robert to the Everett Fire Company #1, 100 Mechanic Street, Everett, PA 15537.
