Ida Eller Obituary

Ida M. Eller,102, of Jerome, a lifelong resident of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 7th, 2016. She was born Saturday, April 25th, 1914 at her family home in West Providence Township, a daughter of the late Shannon E. Pepple and Marguerite (Brown) Pepple Leonard. On January 20th, 1934 she married Peter J. Sweitzer who passed away on November 21st, 1984. On December 18th, 1988 she married Glenn F. Eller who passed away on July 13th, 1991. She is survived by two daughters, Joy L. Martin of Johnstown, Mamie M. Duvall and husband W. Roger Duvall of Everett, Six grandchildren: Peter Stunkard and wife Shelly of Springfield, Illinois, Sharon Barkman and husband Allen Barkman of Everett, Joseph Stunkard and wife Kristen (Pride) Stunkard of New Fairfield, Connecticut, Cathy Brown and husband Larry Brown of Fort Pierce, Florida, Robin Ferrari and husband John Ferrari of Navoto, California, Roger Dean Duvall and wife Dr. Susan Matthews Duvall of Richmond, Kentucky, 21 great-grandchildren, 7 great great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews and their families. She was preceded in passing away by a son in law Arthur Martin, a sister, Mamie Boor, and a granddaughter Teresa. Mrs. Eller was a member of the Everett Church of the Brethren. Her career as a waitress began in the 1940's when Donald Geinger asked her to work for him at his restaurant on Main Street in Everett, which later became the Surf Room. She then worked at Reed's Romar Restaurant, now Kelly's Scenic View Restaurant, and also worked as a waitress at the Holiday Inn and the Ramada Inn in Breezewood, at the Bonanza Restaurant in Breezewood and retired in 2002 from the Travelers Rest Restaurant. Ida enjoyed being a homemaker, raising her children and helping to raise her grandchildren. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing bingo and also liked horseracing and making predictions for the winners of the Triple Crown. She will be remembered for her kindness, determination and being a good mother who easily balanced work and family and enjoying it all the while. Funeral services will be held Friday June 10th, 2016, at 1:00 pm at Everett Cemetery with Pastor Eric Henderson officiating. Friends may call at the cemetery from 12:30 pm until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com.
