James Payne Obituary

James S. "Stevie" Payne, 48, of Clearville, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 18th, 2016. He was born Sunday, December 3rd, 1967 in Cheverly, Maryland, a son of Joseph D. "Joe" Payne, Sr. of Clearville and the late Shirley (Houser) Payne who passed away on September 18th, 2013. He is survived by his brother, Joseph D. Payne, Jr., and wife Janet of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, Two nephews Adam Payne and Lewis Payne, a step-nephew Kollin and a step-niece Danielle, Three aunts, Helen V. McMillan of Clearville, Lillian Payne of Hyattsville, Maryland, and Mae Payne of Stewartstown, A cousin and best friend Penny (McMillan) Beegle and husband Alan Beegle, Sr., of Clearville, and many more loving cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in passing away by a sister Shirley Ann Payne, an aunt Mable (Houser) Settle and eight uncles, Arthur McMillan, Robert Houser, William Houser, James Houser, Pat Payne, John Payne, Lee Roy Payne, and Elwood Payne. As a young man, Stevie attended high school in San Diego, California and then worked as an electrician's assistant, a press operator, and as a lumberman at Blue Triangle Hardwoods in Everett. For the past 10 years, he has worked at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital in the maintenance and housekeeping departments. He enjoyed playing golf, kayaking, fishing and crabbing, and loved to visit the beach in Breezy Point, Maryland. Being one to keep himself busy, Stevie was always willing to lend a helping hand or go the extra mile. He was a dedicated son, brother, uncle and friend who liked to spend time with his family and always had a kind word to share with you. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 25th, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett with Pastor Fran Scott officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Monday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Stevie to the funeral home.
