Jane Schlagnhaufer Obituary

Jane C. Schlagnhaufer, 84, of Homewood at Springhouse Estates, Everett, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2011. She was born October 15, 1926 in Elkins Park, a daughter of the late George C. Howald and Ida Mae (Jenkins) Howald. On September 24, 1946, she married George J. Schlagnhaufer, Jr., who passed away on December 14, 1994. She is survived by their children, George J. Schlagnhaufer, of Berlin, Linda Digiacono, of Birdsboro, Joanne Berhardt and husband Fred, of Ivyland, Carl Schlagnhaufer and wife Beth, of Julian, Lisa Glessner and husband Paul, of Berlin, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren a sister, Charlotte Howald, of Willow Grove, and a brother Herbert Howald, of Rydal. Mrs. Schlagnhaufer attended the Bald Hill Lutheran Church in Everett. Previously living in Hatfield and Quakertown, she was employed as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Company during World War II, and was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family, moving to Everett in October of 2001, and will be greatly missed. Burial services will be held Friday, May 6, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Park, Feasterville, Bucks County, with Rev. Aaron Durso officiating. A memorial service with be held Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Community Center of Homewood at Springhouse Estates in Everett, with Rev. Harold Bowser officiating.
