Janet Ruth (Clark) Nelson

Mrs. Janet R. Nelson, 87, a resident of Donahoe Manor, formerly of South Milk & Water Road, Everett, mercifully went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 1, 2012, after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born April 4, 1924 in Clearville, a daughter of the late Roy S. Clark and Edith E. (Cogan) Clark. On May 21, 1942, in Cumberland, Maryland, she married Earl W. Nelson, who survives along with their 3 sons, Roy D. Nelson, of Everett Robert W. Nelson, and wife Peggy (Barkman) Nelson, of Breezewood Denver R. Nelson, of Everett 2 daughters, Betty M. Clark, and husband Stephen Clark, of Duluth, Georgia Ruth E. Sheirer, and husband John Sheirer, of Manns Choice 7 grandchildren, Amy Nelson and Zane Nelson, of Breezewood Amanda Atherton, and husband Barry, of Yatesboro Dustin Clark and wife Laura, of Winder, Georgia Kristina Clark, of Duluth, Georgia Troy Nelson, and wife Diane, of Mattie Vaughn Nelson, of Everett 6 great grandchildren, Alexis Nelson; Bailey, Tanner and Aaron Clark; Nicholas and Zachary Atherton 2 sisters, Reba Chamberlain and husband Ralph, of Clearville and Beatrice Sell, of Cumberland and 2 brothers, Henry Clark and wife Wilda, of Clearville and Richard Clark, of Port Royal. She was preceded in passing away by an infant son Donald L. Nelson, a great grandson Troy D. Clark, a sister, Orpha Shaw, and a brother, Guy O. Clark. Earlier in her lifetime, Mrs. Nelson was employed with Lion Manufacturing in Everett. In the years prior to her illness, she enjoyed spending time with her family, preparing large meals for them, and also enjoyed gardening, crocheting, embroidery, and helping with activities at her Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother sister and friend who will be greatly and sadly missed. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett with Rev. John E. Guyer officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, on Saturday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Pleasant Union Cemetery, Clearville.
