Joanne Ellen (Ward) Foor

Joanne E. (Ward) Foor, 79, of Everett, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born January 19, 1943, in Everett, a daughter of the late Marshall M. Ward and Ruby B. (Fetters) Ward. 

On August 6, 1960, in Cumberland, Md., she married Ronald W. Foor who survives. Her passing ends a 62-year marriage.

 

Joanne is survived by her husband and their children;

Carla L. Foor and fiancé, Jonathan Donelson, of Everett, and

Robin L. Foor, of Hanover,

 

Five grandchildren;

Jacob King of Chester, VA,

Blake Small and partner, Emily Holmes of Lake Ariel, PA,

Dustin Small and partner, Sarah Mafnas of Dover, PA,

Megann (King) Comstock and husband, Chris of Virginia Beach, VA, and

Casey Small of Hanover, PA.

 

She is also survived by sisters; Shirley Hann of Detroit, MI, and Mary Jane Ward of Breezewood, PA, sisters-in-law; Shirley Ward of Chambersburg, PA, and Carol Ward of West Virginia, and many nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in passing by brothers, Robert R. Ward and Ronald A. Ward.

 

Joanne attended Everett High School and was a member of the Everett Church of the Brethren.

 

She was a “stay at home” mom that was active in the Everett High School Band Parents Organization while her daughters were in the band, helping with Friday night football games, parades, and many banquets. She was known and loved by many children and referred to as “Mom.”

 

With her children beginning their own lives, she carried on her motherly role by babysitting her grandchildren and other children in the area. She took great pride in caring for her own home, which cultivated the enjoyment of caring for other's homes. 

 

Joanne and Ronnie’s most enjoyable times together were spent taking Sunday drives, shopping, and going out to dinner.

 

She was truly loved by many and will be missed.

 

The family would like to thank Grane Hospice for their outstanding care and a special “Thank You” to Tammy, Paige, Kelly, and Tammy for their love and support during this most difficult time.

 

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at Donelson Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Robertson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.donelsonfuneralhome.com.
 
Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.
