Joanne V. (Sente) Leeds

Joanne V. Leeds, 74, of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 8th, 2015. She was born Tuesday, September 24th, 1940 in Newark, New Jersey, a daughter of the late James Sente and Victoria R. (Muha) Sente. On December 17th, 1962 in Elkton, Maryland she married Gerald H. "Jerry" Leeds who passed away on July 5th, 2011. She is survived by her three children, Donna M. Leeds Victoria A. (Rickert)Testerman and husband Jeff Testerman Duane E. Leeds and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and their families. Mrs. Leeds attended the Mount Pisgah AME Zion Lutheran Church in Bedford. She was a graduate of Atlantic City High School, Class of 1958 and graduated from Moore College of Fine Arts & Design in Philadelphia with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She was an accomplished artist who, along with her husband Jerry, owned and operated a printing company in Absecon, New Jersey until retiring. After moving to Everett, Joanne worked for the American Red Cross of Bedford County from 1992 through 2011, where she was instrumental in setting up the Bedford County Food Bank. She was active with many events at The Foundry Art Studio in Everett, was a great history buff who especially enjoyed studies of the Civil War, and was a member of the State Animal Response Team. A bona fide cat lover who truly enjoyed raising and caring for the cats around her home and farm, Joanne especially enjoyed the company of her cat "Turkey." She took great pride in the flower gardens she grew at home and was a loving wife, mother and friend who will be truly missed by all of those whose lives she touched.
