John T. Sparks

John T. Sparks, 67, of Everett, passed away on Wednesday, March 30th, 2016 at home after failure for a year. He was born Tuesday, September 21st, 1948 at his family home in West Providence Township, a son of the late Richard H. Sparks and Clara A. "Pat" (Mathes) Sparks. On September 21st, 1975 at the Black Valley Federated Church of the Brethren and Christian, he married Treasa L. (Morgan) Sparks who survives along with their children, Lorie Silvestre and husband Emerson Silvestre of Everett, Justin J. Sparks of Fort Dixon, New Jersey, four granddaughters, Keyana Sparks, Selena Munoz, Brittanee McCloe, Elanee Silvestre a sister-in law Carol Sparks of Everett, a brother-in-law Ronald Prevette of Hayward, California and several loving nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing away by a sister Patricia "Patsy" Prevette and a brother Richard J. Sparks. John was a graduate of Everett Southern Joint High School, Class of 1966 and attended West Virginia University where he studied forestry. He served in the United States Army as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War from October of 1969 to October of 1971 with Company D 1st Battalion in Vietnam. After his service to his country, John was employed or 38 years as a machinist at Kennametal in Bedford until retiring. At home he enjoyed hunting, farming and motorcycling and will be remembered for his kind and easy going way of life. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 2nd, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev. Curtis Bryant officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Saturday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com.
