Joseph A. Bowser, 83, formerly of Clearville, PA, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025.
He was born on February 3, 1942, in Roaring Springs, PA, a son of the late Robert and Iva (Eshleman) Bowser.
On September 30, 1988, in Winchester, VA, he married Luella (Snyder) Bowser, who preceded him in passing on August 3, 2024.
Joseph is survived by a daughter, Kim Soistman and husband, Tony; a brother, Roger Bowser and wife, Kay; a grandchild, Cody Dillon; two great-grandchildren, Nehiemiah Dillon and Jacob Scott; seven step great-granchildren; a special niece, Hillary Robinette and husband Daren; a special nephew, Preston Barkman and wife, Janelle; two furry friends, Freeport and Bahama; a sister-in-law, Dolly Bowser; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in passing by a brother, John Bowser; and an infant great-grandchild, Jaxon Dillon.
Joe was a proud graduate of Northern Bedford County High School. Where he began developing the strong work ethic that would define his life.
After graduation, Joe spent many years working in the construction industry, first as a concrete mixer driver and then as a blacktop driver for New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company he worked there until his well-deserved retirement. Joe took great pride in his work, always showing up early and giving it his all.
Joe had a deep love for the outdoors. He fondly remembered the hunting adventures he shared with his brothers in their younger years. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburg Pirates fan, with a passion for the teams that never wavered. His enthusiasm for sports didn’t stop there-Joe was a dedicated NASCAR fan, always eager to catch the next race and share his excitement with others. Joe’s kind heart, his humor, and his generosity left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
A Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at noon, in the Chapel at Donelson Funeral Home.
