Joseph C. Colledge, 93 of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 10th, 2016. He was born Saturday, February 11th, 1922 at his family home in East Providence Township, a son of the late Raymond C. Colledge and Ola Blanche (Means) Colledge. On November 12th, 1948 in Winchester, Virginia, he married Margaret E. "Peg" (Foor) Colledge who passed away on July 22nd, 2002. He is survived by their children, Alice E. Wheeler and husband Grant Wheeler of Glendale, R. Clinton Colledge and wife Paulette of Wapakaneta, Ohio Jason S. Colledge of Phoenix, Arizona Richard L. Colledge and wife Paulette of Sanatoga Norman D. Colledge of Everett 14 grandchildren and many loving great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. In addition to his wife Peg, he was preceded in passing away by two daughters, Roberta Mitchell and Arlene "Neni" Colledge, a grandson Joseph K. Colledge, an infant sister Gladys Colledge, three sisters Edith Dodson, Arlene Heckman and Sarah Dickeson, and five brothers, Clifford C. Colledge, Wallace Colledge, Wayne Colledge, Paul R. Colledge and Clyde A. Colledge. In his younger years Joe attended the Mountain Chapel Brethren In Christ Church and was a member of the Rays Cove Christian Church. After finishing school, he worked as a farm hand with his family driving teams of horses, plowing, cultivating and harvesting crops. He then served in the United States Army during World War II as a Private First Class Cannoneer, Rifleman and Gun Crewman, loading and setting fuses on guns and maintaining and cleaning equipment. After his service to his country, Joe returned home and worked as a coal miner, was employed with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Maintenance Department and for many years worked at Phoenix Steel Company in Phoenixville until retiring. At home he enjoyed a little bit of gardening, caring for and spending time with his wife and their grandchildren, and truly enjoyed just sitting back and watching the scenery around his Rays Cove home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, January 16th, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Rays Cove Christian Church with Rev. Curtis Bryant officiating. Friend may call at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Saturday at the Church from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Rays Cove Cemetery. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Everett Honor Guard.
