June (Rice) Chamberlain

June E. (Rice) Chamberlain, 93, of Everett was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 9th, 2017. She was born on Thursday, June 5th, 1924 at her family home in West Providence Township, Everett, a daughter of the late George Rice and Ethel Dora (May) Rice. On December 21st, 1942 in Cumberland, Maryland, she was united in marriage to Ross W. Chamberlain who passed away on Wednesday, September 20th, 2000. She is survived by their children, Wanda J. Graeff of Augusta, Georgia, Jeff Chamberlain and wife Paulette (Dodson) Chamberlain of Everett, Five Grandchildren, Dawn Bryant, Tonya Porter, Ryan Chamberlain, Francis Garlick and Trenton Garlick; Eight great-grandchildren including McKayla Ruby and Ethan Ruby, who helped her with chores around her home, 6 great great-grandchildren, a special friend Mabel Mearkle and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in passing away by an infant brother Carl Rice in 1920 and 2 sisters, Velma Caroway who passed away in 1964 and Mary Etta Heffner in 1990. Mrs. Chamberlain was a member of the Everett Church of the Brethren and attended Cherry Lane Church of the Brethren in Clearville for many years. A graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1942, she and her husband Ross owned and operated their West Providence Township dairy farm for 20 years until taking an early retirement. June then worked at the Fairfoot Shoe Factory in Wolfsburg for 7 years and then was a seamstress at Lion Manufacturing in Everett for 20 years until retiring. At home June enjoyed working outside in her yard, cooking and caring for her family and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who shared with us the beauty of life, compassion and forgiveness. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 13th, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Pastor Ron Hott officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of June to the Cherry Lane Church of The Brethren, 1305 Cherry Lane, Clearville, PA 15535.
