Kathryn M. (Calhoun) Pee

Kathryn M. Pee, 94, of Everett and Woodbridge, Virginia, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 3rd, 2012. She was born Tuesday, September 18th, 1917 in Mench, a daughter of the late Jacob Clarence Calhoun and Minnie Etta (Bussard) Calhoun. On April 15th, 1944 she married Walter Maynard Pee who passed away on June 19th, 1999. She is survived by their daughter, Sandra Y. Remer and husband Theodore B. Remer of Woodbridge, Virginia with whom she has lived for the past 4 years, 2 grandsons, Jeffrey B. Remer, of Alexandria, Virginia Christopher B. Remer, of Reston, Virginia 4 nieces, Charlene, Connie, Shari, and Susan, and 2 nephews, Lindsey and Gary and their families. She preceded in passing away by 2 sisters, Daisy E. Lee and Edith Smith and a nephew Bill Smith. Mrs. Pee was a member of the Pennwood Bible Church for many years. She was a homemaker who also worked at the Kelly-Springfield Tire Company in Cumberland as a riveter helping with the World War II effort. She later worked as a seamstress at Lion Manufacturing in Everett and at the Howard Johnson Commissary in Bedford. At home, Kathryn enjoyed planting and caring for the flowers around here home in the spring, summer and fall, and also enjoyed sewing and mending for family and friends. She will be greatly missed for her caring ways and the ability to help us all become independent and caring people. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Pastor Floyd Rinehart and Pastor Walter E. Hoard officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, on Saturday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.
