LaVawn Lynch Obituary

LaVawn "Bonnie" Lynch, 89, of Donahoe Manor, formerly of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 16, 2011. She was born August 25, 1921 in Everett, a daughter of the late Blanche M. Drenning. On October 13, 1951 in Winchester, Virginia, she married J. Robert "Bobby" Lynch who passed away on August 15, 1977. She is survived by 3 cousins Elaine Lashley, of Largo, FL Jane Caldwell, of New Port Richey, FL Debbie Miller, of Bridgeville, PA 2 sisters in law, Pauline (Lynch) Johnson, of Everett, and Betty (Lynch) Wigfield, of Everett her close friend, Carol Clabaugh, of Everett, and several loving nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in passing away by a brother John F. Drenning, a sister in law, Eleanor (Finucane) Drenning, 2 nephews, John F. Drenning, Jr., and Donald Drenning, and an Aunt, Lucy Woy. Mrs. Lynch was a lifelong member of the Everett Church of the Brethren, and embraced her family and friends, being nourished by her relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Prayer and reading the Holy Bible, principles modeled to her by her grandparents, were an integral part of her foundation as well as enjoying fellowship and study with her Church family. Earlier in her lifetime she was employed at Lion Manufacturing in Everett, and then worked as a housekeeper for Bun & Ruth Clark at the Juniata Hotel in Everett, for Dr. John Hartle, and for the Everett Borough. Together, she and her husband built a cabin along the river where they enjoyed fishing, and many memorable memories were made spending time with family and friends in Monroeville, gathering with her in-laws for fun times at picnics, celebrations, and reunions. Bonnie was a dedicated friend, keeping lifelong friendships with Kate England and Betty Booror, and when she was apprehensive about boarding an airplane for the first time and flying to Florida to visit family, it was her friend Louise Brendle who accompanied her. Walking along the Juniata River in Everett with her friend Mildred Mortimer on summer evenings, followed by a stop at the Landmark or Corral restaurants for ice cream were memorable times for Bonnie, as well as helping others, like pet sitting for Dr. Hartle and his family, or Sunday dinners with friends at "The Farm," the home of Stanley and Elsie Potts. When she needed someone to lend a hand of support, friends Howard and Dottie Long were there, and these relationships and many others were her most gifted treasures. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Everett Church of the Brethren with Rev. Frank Ramirez officiating. Friends may call at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, on Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, and on Monday at the Church from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com.
