Lena M. (Fetters) Wigfield

Lena M. Wigfield, 98, of Everett, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 1st, 2015. She was born Sunday August 20th, 1916 at her family home in Southampton Township, a daughter of the late Colonel M. Fetters and Rhoda (Bowman) Fetters. On March 3rd, 1938 in Winchester, Virginia, she married Edgar Wigfield who passed away on June 26th, 2005. She is survived by their two children, Vada L. Birmingham of Cresaptown Dale F. Wigfield and longtime companion Jean Eichelberger of Schellsburg Two grandsons, Troy L. Wigfield and wife Tawnya (Wolfhope) Wigfield of Schellsburg Travis L. Wigfield and wife Anahi (Balmaceda) Wigfield of Everett Four great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Landon, Dulcia and Caleb A sister, Helen Hedrick of Everett A brother-in-law Allen Wigfield and wife Janet of Warfordsburg And several nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law Robert H. Birmingham, two sisters, Barbara Fetters and Belva Redinger and her husband John Redinger, and a brother Eldon Fetters. Mrs. Wigfield was a member of the Everett United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker who also worked as a baker, cook and kitchen assistant for the Everett Area School District at the elementary and high schools. In her earlier years, she truly enjoyed quilting and other home crafts as well as keeping flower and vegetable gardens at her home and while living a Pennknoll Village, just loved a visit from her family who would bring Kaylee, Jeanne's pet Maltese dog, to see her. Lena was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who especially enjoyed entertaining her great-grandchildren and will be remember for the her optimistic outlook on life. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 5th, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Pastor Fred Rudy officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, on Thursday from 10:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com.
