Lori J. Smith

Lori J. Smith, 47, of Cumberland, formerly of Artemas, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 26th, 2014. She was born Thursday, June 8th, 1967 at the War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, a daughter of the late Richard F. Smith and Joann (Powers) Smith. She is survived by two sisters, Rebecca Smith of Cumberland and Susan Howell of Cumberland; Three nieces, Joanna Sites and husband Kermit Site, Calli Wilt, and Abby Morgan and a nephew Tommy Morgan, and their families. Lori was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Cumberland. A graduate of Everett Area High School, Class of 1984 and the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, Class of 1988, she previously was employed as a business analyst for CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield of Maryland, where she was also an active volunteer with United Way. At home she enjoyed watching old movies, was an avid reader who especially enjoyed mystery novels, and was sharp as a tack when playing trivia games. A loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend, she will be greatly missed by the many folks whose hearts she touched. Private services will be held by her family.
