Margaret E. Lowery

Margaret E. Lowery, 91, of Bedford, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 11, 2012. She was born Monday, November 1, 1920 in Ellerslie, Maryland, a daughter of the late Eugene L. Lowery and Nettie P. (Gaumer) Lowery. She is survived by 4 nieces, Mary Wilson, of Carlisle Barbara Rose, of York Cindy Williams and husband George, of Greensburg Sherry Clark, and husband Jeff, of Baltimore 4 nephews, Mike Lowery and wife Jan, of Cumberland Danny Lowery, and wife Rhonda, of Cumberland Ken Lowery, of Cumberland Clyde Lowery and wife Donna, of Birdsboro and many loving cousins, great and great great-nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in passing away by 2 nieces Linda Readinger and Shirley Lowery, a sister Lilabelle "Dit" Henry, an infant brother Leo Lowery, 3 brothers, Harold, Clyde and Irvin Lowery and her friend and longtime companion James Gorsuch. Margaret was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bedford and a member of the Bedford American Legion Post #113 Auxiliary. For over 45 years she was employed at the Howard Johnson's Restaurant at Midway as a waitress and cashier until retiring in 1986. She enjoyed baking for family and friends, especially for the Christmas season, and was a second Mom to her nieces and nephews, baby sitting and caring for them with her loving ways. Always willing to help others, Margaret gladly welcomed her family and friends into her home and will be greatly missed for her appreciative and sharing ways Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 16th, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Main Street, Everett, with Rev. Raymond E. Short officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the hour of service and share memories online at www.dallavalle-everett.com. Burial will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
