Maxine P. (Dodson) Hite

Maxine P. (Dodson) Hite, 76, of Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon. She was born Friday, August 20th, 1937 in Clearville, Bedford County, a daughter of the late Veryl A. Dodson and Mary Ester (Bowman) Dodson. She was united in marriage to John Hite, Jr., who passed away on February 4th, 2008, and is survived by their daughter Robyn Hite of Huntingdon, and her children Tiffany and Michael of Huntingdon, a son Edward Hite of Mechanicsburg, two sisters, Marion Calhoun and husband Marvin, of Everett, and Charlotte Householder and husband Gary, of Huntingdon, a brother, Harry W. Dodson of Crystal Spring, a sister-in-law, Cleo Dodson, and many loving nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in passing away by three sisters, LaVata Fischer, Vera Hixson, and Isabelle Bellah, and a brother Roy V. Dodson. Mrs. Hite was a member of the [Please pick or provide the correct name (Emmanuel) (Landmark) (Country & Town) (Bible)] Baptist Church in Mechanicsburg. She was a member of the Everett Southern Joint High School Class of 1957 who enjoyed playing bingo and listening to Christian music. She will be remembered as a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a dear friend to all. A private committal service was held at Clearville Union Cemetery on May 5th, 2014.
